Creating the Shell

After all of the Styrofoam was carved and ready, I started creating the fiberglass shell. I hadn’t done this before, and trying to form fiberglass without a suction table was challenging to say the least.

Working on a side door. The mat was thick and didn’t hold to the mold; I used bamboo skewers to hold it down.

I did the front panels in place, which was unbelievably messy (epoxy dribbled everywhere). I did the rear panels on a table instead.

Later, some refinishing of the door panels.
